TECNO has officially renewed its partnership with AFCON, solidifying its role as the Official Global Partner for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 and Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda 2027 tournaments.

This continued collaboration marks an important milestone in TECNO’s commitment to African football, following its successful sponsorship of AFCON 2023, where it served as the exclusive smartphone sponsor for the competition.

Announced in Nairobi, Kenya

The announcement took place in Nairobi, Kenya, one of the host countries for AFCON 2027. The event was led by CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba and TECNO Vice President Shiming Jiang, reinforcing TECNO’s growing role in shaping football across the continent.

Strengthening AI & Innovation in Football

Benjamin Jiang, Vice President of Transsion Holdings, highlighted that this renewed partnership reflects the shared ambitions between TECNO and CAF. He emphasized how AI-powered smart technologies are becoming essential tools for connecting communities and empowering young African talents.

TECNO aims to go beyond football sponsorship, positioning itself as a catalyst for AI-driven innovation that will shape the future of sports in Africa.

“Dream Field Renovation” Project Continues

TECNO is not just investing in major tournaments—it is actively working to improve football infrastructure in underserved communities.

Through its Dream Field Renovation initiative—launched in 2024—TECNO plans to renovate 100 football pitches across Africa by 2028. This project aims to enhance youth engagement, improve access to quality playing fields, and foster football development at the grassroots level.

CAF’s Vision for African Football Growth

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe praised AFCON’s expansion and success, highlighting how strategic sponsorships, like TECNO’s, contribute to the tournament’s growing impact.

He reaffirmed that AFCON is the biggest sporting event in Africa and that TECNO’s investment will help the competition reach new markets and global audiences.
